MacKinnon Red Ancient Tartan Fabric

MacKinnon Red Modern Lightweight Tartan is a bright red-based tartan with shades of green and white. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
The MacKinnon’s are a West Highland clan and claim descent from Fingo, the great-grandson of Kenneth MacAlpine, King of Scots, who was killed in 837. They supported the Jacobite’s in the Risings of 1715 and 1745, and the chief was taken prisoner during the last Rising and was imprisoned in the Tower of London.
