Munro Black & Red Modern Lightweight Tartan is a bold red-based tartan with black checks. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

The Munros possessed lands in Easter Ross in the 12th century and the chief was known as Munro of Foulis. Numerically strong, they were important in their Highland District, and in the 17th century their military spirit found outlet in the Continental War, where they served under their chief, Sir Robert Munro, called the “Black Baron”.
