Description

Murray of Elibank Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a blue-based tartan with shades of green and yellow.

Freskin, one of the Celtic chiefs of the ancient Province of Moray, was the ancestor of the Murrays. William, described as “de Moravia”, acquired lands in the Lowlands, including Bothwell. Sir Andrew, of Bothwell, supported William Wallace and was Regent after the death of King Robert I. From him descended the Murrays of Tullibardine.
